Yeesh, sorry. It shouldn't come as a surprise that when I'm introduced to someone and they say they know of 4chan, my immediate response is "I'm sorry."

I saw this and said "Why the fuck is this on Hacker News?" out loud.

That whole anonymity thing is overrated, IMHO. Who would ever argue for such a thing?

+1 Sad I didn't get to meet the Class of 2013 earlier this summer, but the fellows who showed up to my talk last night were all top notch. Hope they enjoy the rest of their hard earned summer break.

I read every e-mail I receive at moot@4chan.org, usually within minutes.

I should syndicate my 4chan inbox somewhere. 10 years of "FAK U FAGET" has left me with a mountain of wonderful e-mail.

When people recognize/approach me on the street, they often qualify it with "B-but I don't use 4chan [anymore]." There's certainly a stigma.

Good thing you're not on 4chan -- using the 'R' word there is a death wish.

They provided a boilerplate version of the ad and I gave them the 4chan-appropriate keywords to use with it. They've always been great to work with re: advertising.

Is this the first time Microsoft has branded an update as a dot X release instead of a Service Pack? I for one welcome this change and hope it signals a switch to more frequent major OS updates.

+1 -- Brian is excellent. I believe we (4chan) were the first merchant to use their merchant tools and it's been a real pleasure to get to know Brian and work with his team.

I'm sorry, but reading "I tried a Show HN for one of my projects. It's now dead." made me laugh so hard I spit out my tea. You owe me new boxers, sir. And some burn cream.

We use CloudFlare for everything -- CDN, DDoS mitigation, Railgun (see below), et cetera. They serve ~1.5 petabytes of bandwidth on our behalf every month and proxy billions upon billions of requests. I'm a huge fan of the product and team,

>Made by the Blimp crew in San Juan, Puerto Rico This made me happy. Cool to see a Puerto Rican startup on the front page of HN. Are there other notable PR startups that I might not know about?

This reads like most of the e-mail I get, and I don't even run a publicly traded company!

Doesn't exist yet. I'll update the API GitHub page once we add it.

> I'd say the fact that your posts are most likely to be forgotten, even if it is archived, is much more of a negative aspect of the site than a positive. This is the most magical aspect of 4chan, which is why I don't care for archives.

Just a few minutes, since we only store active threads in the database. Was only ~9,000 threads.

Probably not. Since we don't have user accounts, and already have a bit of a spam problem, I'd be pretty worried about what a real POST API might bring.

All of the old threads were rebuilt, so everything should have a JSON representation.
