Thank you for your valuable input. I’m keenly aware of attention value and try my best not to reinforce bad behaviour. But if he’s doing something truly dangerous I cannot ignore that. I understand that even that can be dealt with different

I wish that worked with my 4yo. He’ll whine and whine. And then feel rejected and start deliberately causing trouble to gain attention. Literally cannot be alone for a second.

Cloud is more than instances. If all you need is a bunch of boxes, then cloud is a terrible fit. I use AWS cloud a lot, and almost never use any VMs or instances. Most instances I use are along the lines of a simple anemic box for a bastion

I once hired a writing coach for a bit and it improved my writing immensely. There’s no better way to get real, unadulterated feedback on your writing.

Best pipeline I’ve had the pleasure to design is AWS CodePipeline via AWS CDK. Ticks all boxes. Uses pure TypeScript code.

Oh yes how opportunistic. Now that Ukraine had been weakened let’s push thru some “reforms” to make it easier to pillage legally.

One massive one that we’ve been struggling with for months. Some PostgreSQL query errors are not handled correctly. It results in a fatal handling which restarts the entire server. It takes up to 30 seconds for the full reload meanwhile use

It’s ok for an MVP but anything beyond that I wouldn’t use it. It’s ok for internal tools. But has a few annoying bugs and they aren’t too eager to fix. Even our internal users are very annoyed.

And Ukrainian partners don’t even wait for that. Lands are being divided and bought out by BlackRock and the like for pennies on the dollar.

To clarify the definition. Boring is in the eyes of the developer writing the solution. What’s boring to the author might not be boring to me. Running a bare metal server with apps and database is not boring, but stressful to me. I find AWS

One use cases I like a lot is copy paste the entire error from the console into the chat window. No explanation or preamble. Just raw output. Most of the time I get some useful leads out of it. It’s not always solving it entirely for me but

Could make the argument the other way too though. If these companies bought bandwidth from for profit companies like Level3 who charge them an arm and a leg, then it’d be the final consumer who’d be paying the costs. By having their own pip
