> I didn't realize that people just stop making new friends after 30 (outside work). I think this might be a self fulfilling prophecy. I’m 40 and I’m still making friends. I don’t see why there must be some sort of magical age limit

Get a sleep consultant as soon as your baby is ready for it. Many parents suffer from lack of structure the baby needs, which leads to bad sleep habits and trickles down to parents. Also newborns pretty much need to sleep and eat. As parent

I’ve been developing for the web since 1998. I also held this belief until about 3 years ago. Then I actually tried to learn AWS and now I just can’t imagine going back to anything before. And I’ve used everything from basic shell scripts t

Yeah, I’ve had a very similar dreadful experience once. Didn’t get fired, just left myself after a while. They wouldn’t fire at the time, as the project required all hands on deck. Still puzzling to me to be honest. I keep revisiting it in

And combine it with cdktf you can use actual code, shared consts, and have a reliable setup in a common language rather than a JSON DSL.

Are they open sourcing the backend? The global search is just so bad. I’ve told them multiple times about it. I’d try to contribute a fix if that was possible.

I don’t think they paid for “GPT3 frontend”. I think they wanted to consolidate and get all of the users. I imagine tech was somewhat of an afterthought.

Maybe they ran a financial pyramid and the music stopped. Funding had ran out. Interest rates went up. Rampant inflation. People can’t feed themselves, no one cares about smooth rocks anymore. They just want a sandwich and a roof.

Agreed with everything you said! IaC changes everything. Especially CDK. But IMO permission boundaries still have a place in certain cases. If you allow SREs to login and poke around in the accounts, what will stop them from creating polici

Amazingly my story is almost exactly like yours! The only small difference in the end for me was to stop counting entirely at some point. I realized that at that point counting was almost counterproductive for me. I feel like counting sort

I think individuals get cut for two reasons: 1. You aren’t a good employee as individual. 2. Cost cutting measures to entire company functions. I think in both cases you should know whether your position is in imminent danger.

If you are all in AWS then strong vote for AWS CDK. If you need other cloud providers, then perhaps check CDKTF as well. But also nothing wrong with using both. Just not on the same stack or sub system. TF also has other than cloud types of
