I think what the article misses with this particular search is that Google's function most of the time is to get you pages that contain the phrase, and not necessarily the answer to the question. In some cases it does "feature&quo

True, and one other thing I've noticed is e.g. "Half of my searches" can bring say 200,000 results, but "Half of my" yields 50,000. A few other weird things that's been there for years and nobody seems to care.

For starters, the fact that RealTek is so easily reprogrammable to turn audio output into input is very unlikely just a "bug". It's a feature left their on purpose.

"Design is not art" in a sense that while design tries to sell a product, art sells just itself. Fine. However, it's a very broad generalization that can be easily proven wrong. A great design sells both the product and itsel

That $300 difference includes a faster processor (2GHz vs. 2.9GHz), faster memory, better graphics card, more USB ports, and the TouchBar + fingerprint scanner. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

To be fair though, emojis are not central in their marketing messages. People like you and me can view it as a passing gimmick. Remember Ping? The belly-up mouse? We can forgive a few flops, right? Or how do we know emojis are not the new l

Call it a distortion field, but Apple hasn't been overtaken by marketing people (yet). Marketing is driven by today's demand almost by definition, while Apple can easily make today's markets a little worried and uncomfortable

It seems to me, the latest wave of disappointed Apple fans who declare their break up is a sign of something interesting. It means you picked up Apple in the 2000s, but you can't keep up anymore. It might just be that Apple is moving f

The tragedy is that, with non-critical software that can't kill anyone, users are happy with most bugs most of the time. Therefore we will never have legal quality standards for most types of software.

I think the problem (at least theoretically) is that second-choice votes are not weighted. It could've been e.g. 1 for first choice, 0.5 for second and so on. Because obviously your second choice candidate is not as good to you as the

That would be very very cool, but good luck with trying to version .logicx or .cpr I think popular software vendors should seriously reconsider their file formats in the 21st century, including graphical and audio ones.

One of the consequences of that being tons of cheap disposable software jobs everywhere, crappy recruitment process, good engineers literally drowning in the sea of the above.
