Around here, the lease-land mobile-like homes are retirement communities. It is admittedly getting close to the time when we’ll see community-wide leasing agreements come up for renegotiation. The concept really works out well for the Boome

Let’s be honest: it varies widely. There are parks with age restrictions: they tend to be okay. There are parks that do enforce their bylaws, including visual appearances, and they’re pretty good. A well-managed small park of newer double-w

I suppose one might well expect a brand-new (to us) virus to have wide-ranging effect, as nothing in our bodies’ functions and feedback loops has ever had to accommodate its presence. The ACE receptor interference is alone a huge problem fo

I just looked up tandem 10000lb flat deck trailers, e.g. suitable platform on which to build a tiny home. They’re about $5000 a pop. Maybe if you steal everything from a construction site, a tiny home could be built for $10K.

Yah, why advocate for real housing, when we can just stuff people into 100sq.ft. mobile tiny homes. That way we can ensure the working poor never set down roots or enjoy the stability of a neighbourhood; we’ll be able to keep them moving, a

Makes sense: people who think they are smart think everyone wants to hear what they’ve got to say, even if their babble is incorrect, hateful, or just plain stupid.

I have read that Canada’s house prices have increased by an average 7% per year for quite a few decades. A 5% mortgage would reduce profits on sale to 2%, I think, which is around the target inflation rate.

Layering. I live in Canada, where it gets quite cold. I live in an old, drafty house. Like, the wind literally whistles through it. The temperature is kept at 18°C during the day. We wear our wool socks, fleece-lined pants, and several laye

I have read that Americans have access to 30yr fixed rate mortgages. Is that a full 30 years at the same rate, or is it, say, 5 years at the initial rate, and then you negotiate the next 5 year rate? The latter is how it works in Canada: 30

I get that error all the time on iPadOS when I browse the Reddit front page, paginated-style, viewing videos by clicking the thumbnails to expand the video on-page. I believe it’s simply a memory leak. I fix it by copying the URL, closing a

The point is that it’s not all the “we must murder your granny!” hyperbole that this media is making it out to be. It isn’t the best, it’s better than the median, and it’s a hell of a lot better than what many others have access to. However
