Three of your points are wrong, the 4th is shared with every other currency. I don't understand why this unreflected bullshit sits at the top of the thread (and I'm not even involved or affiliated with bitcoin).

There are actually quite a few driverless trains already[1] and Google's demonstrations of their driverless car are getting increasingly[2] impressive[3]. The question is really only when the transition to driverless cars will happen - we

It will be a very long time until computer automation can replaced knowledge workers. That is true but I think it's not an interesting question to ask. The interesting question is what we are going to do about the rapidly growing unemploy

I wonder why he chose Cast5 instead of AES. It probably doesn't matter either way, but when you deviate from standard best practices in crypto you should at least explain why you do it. (my best guess would be that the code predates the inv

Especially idiotic are the random references to successful people. As if not "wasting" your 20s (whatever that means) would somehow improve your odds to become the next Einstein. If you happen to be the next Einstein then I firmly doubt rea

Think about where the term literally stems from. A smoking gun may tell who did something and what he did. I have trouble imagining a gun (smoking or not) explain why he did it.

I don't know about your simulation, but over here in the real world it doesn't work that way. Many people don't dry their hands at all in a public bath room (that's what god invented jazz hands[1] for). By combining faucet and dryer you for

I see your comments on every Ruby-related thread and you sound like a broken record. Many of us Ruby-users see the problems in a similar way and try to fix them. It's a learning process and it happens right now. The ruby community is also n

I didn't claim it solves "roughly the same problem", only a very relevant subset of the problem (integrity) closely related to the unfortunate situation rubygems is in right now. What you call background (docs, tooling, education) is an arg

It's always sad to have people chime in like that. The changes I specified are, indeed, about a 10 line patch. You change the default for '-P' (1 line) and you inspect pushes to rubygems.org for a signature and reject them if they lack one.

Yup, we seem to agree in principle. Your approach is definitely more complete but also seems to require fairly substantial code changes (OpenPGP?). My approach should be doable with a mere ~10 lines patch; Gem and bundler should default to
