Both, I think their point is that they’ve got rid of most of the wooden sleepers and replaced them with ‘modern’ concrete. Unfortunately, ‘modern’ is a pretty meaningless word and tells us nothing as to the why of this.

How about Jira-is-dog-slow-and-the-interface-is-garbage-so-just-give-me-the-data? Not catchy enough? Presumably if you built a front end for the database you’d then have a not shit issue tracker.

Ignoring the law because you don’t like it is not a sensible strategy.

I would expect the hacker news crowd would be above this deliberately over-simplified take on the situation. Media like this is designed to re-enforce certain incorrect but convenient views of the world.

Screen sharing is still a awful yeah. It either just works or you’re into a world of pain with user level systemd units that log nothing useful or nothing at all, dependencies that you have to somehow know to install with no instructions,

I can’t imagine how to face an interview panel knowing you’ve pissed at least one of them off already before you even arrived.

To be fair most of the people employed at FAANGs are just moving things between protocol buffers and hash maps and back again. They just make the interview hard because they pay a high salary and get too many applicants.

Neither of those are governments, the UN is a forum for discussion and is very much needed if not always enormously successful. The EU isn’t (obviously) global, but has actually been pretty successful. I actually think it’s a pretty good mo

The model itself is a derivative work of GPLed code and thus should itself be open sourced. Granted by the time it’s spat out it’s probably an unreadable binary blob but it would be nice to have access to it for GPLed projects.

Probably we have to start again with something different in the same way as the web replaced all the other protocols (gopher, usenet etc). I’m not what that looks like but it should be cleaner, simpler, open and blockchain-free.
