I read an interesting analogy yesterday in a poker chat of all places. The guy basically said, let's put bitcoin to buy a coffee litmus test. If I were to buy a cup of coffee in the current frenzy, I would be at the cashier waiting a d

I have no doubt the block chain is the future and one backed by governments. I think Bitcoin and Ethereum are the MySpace before something better came along. They have so many issues that better technology will win out. Being first doesn&#x

That's the part that gets me. Bitcoin has scaling issues, is slow and transaction fees are outrageous. Still, I have no doubt some form of crypto-currency will eventually win out.

MS Silverlight. I thought the world needed a better Flash and with MS behind it and IE was still popular enough. I was a corporate C# developer so I saw everything through Microsoft. It turns out iPhone killed Flash. MS could hardly get any

Sadly my 2013 MBP logic board died after some spilled beer. I purchased and quickly returned a 2017 15" MBP. This is not the MBP which made me switch from Windows. Apple laptops are becoming too thin at the expense of features I care a

Maybe enterprise folks who are the majority of Angular users go to SO first as they do with C# and Java questions. I worked in a few co-working spaces. Startups overwhelmingly favor React. The SNR on Stack Overflow is becoming lower. Many o

AMD GPUs haven't faired well against Nvidia for some time. AMD GPUS use 1.5X more power to keep pace. The recently released Vega GPUs are underwhelming. I don't think Nvidia is too concerned about him going to Intel. AMD needed a

We're running our Debian farm on Azure thanks to startup perks. It's been up 100% for us the last 2.5 years. Azure service is no less or better than AWS.

It's certainly become easier but I rather like having people contribute fixes to issues we may not be aware of. For a small team like our startup, execution of the idea is far more important than having something completely unique.

It's mind-boggling that people here are equating smartphones, browsers to development utilities. This is not something I would expect in Go, node, ruby ... but it's OK because it's .NET build utilities? How is that FUD?

Can someone explain why this is worth paying for over Envoy or Nginx for commercial use? For personal projects Go and even node Express/Koa seems good enough.

I work in a coworking space in Seattle. Most of the startups here use React and a few Angular. Not one, that I know, uses Vue. This is a fairly large coworking space and while I don't know every company's stack, the reach of React
