They release every month so although the releases might not sound big in isolation, the sum of what they release over a course of let's say year is quite exciting. Last really big one (for me) was support of SIMD instructions in the co

Exactly. Haters gonna hate me but I really liked Windows.Forms (and C#) for development line-of-business desktop apps.

I write C every now and then and couldn't care less about C++. So the question is why, what would be the benefit? Do you really think that everyone who use C uses C++ as well?

I upvoted your comment but I only partially agree. PHP is great in some ways and totally atrocious in other ways. It put bread on my table in the 2000s but I am not looking back. The language is horribly designed. Writing AJAX calls before

As a SW Engineer I have to say that this would not really work without some healthy dose of abuse. Mangers at one of my previous workplaces were very vocal with "everything is running with slacks" so whenever I gave them an estima

I happily used GeForce Now when I couldn't get a new GPU (and later could get but couldn't afford it). It made sense because the games were bought through Steam and GoG and I paid just for the streaming service. Now I don't h

I want to tell you that you are incorrect even I upvoted your comment :). There are industries which cannot use rolling distros for whatever reason. I switched jobs at the beginning of this year from a cloud-application development where ev

Well, I honestly put flight modelling over graphics every single day. X-Plane 11 might not be as good as MSFS in terms of graphics but everything else (i.e. the really important things) is.

Until Prepar3D version 3 it was somewhat true. Since V4 it is 64-bit and it broke the compatibility with most older plug-ins.
