Another option would be a Lattice ECP5 based DC-SCM board which would work with the open source Yosys/nextpnr. The system clock for Microwatt only reaches around 70MHz on ECP5 vs 100MHz on the Artix. https://github.com/

The work for this is spread across a few different open source projects. https://codeconstruct.com.au/docs/dcscm-openbmc/ has some details on the various software and gateware parts. (Disclosure, I did some of tha

An interesting thing is that "100 point ID" applies to physical documents, but somehow it's been conflated with the number on the document being equivalent. One is obviously more easily copied than the other, and scales bette

For me act works fairly well, though it isn't exactly the same as Github. Matrix builds didn't work properly (just noticed it has been fixed now), and the base images aren't quite the same. Github should send a bunch of money

Is it a slow bandwidth connection as well as low latency? It could be because curve25519/ed25519 are smaller packet sizes than other algorithms (and also just the length of the list of algorithms in the kexinit packet). I would have ex

This reminds me of my idea about Google's missed opportunity in messaging. They had billions in a captive audience for gmail - all they had to do was figure a way to make the Subject field in SMTP optional, and bam! they'd have a

The biodegradable PCB material looks interesting, https://www.jivamaterials.com Seems at an early stage of development (fairly low accuracy surface?), but seems it would simplify recycling a lot. Just need waterproof enclosures

Even if you like urbanism, this promotional video (from neom themselves) has convinced me that it would be dystopian. All the nuance and uniqueness of places replaced with a homogeneous form, nope. https://www.youtube.com/wa

I'd like that for some cases. Why should the socialising happen in my repo, couldn't it happen in the repo of other people who are developing on top of my work? (ie the forks)

A couple of years ago I moved to the same ortho 12x5 layout on a full size keyboard with single key for space. The space was easy to get used to (my old keyboards had a worn patch on the spacebar where it was always hit!), but the non-stagg
