You compiled it? Why? Why not compile on a different architecture thats faster or use distcc to make a compile farm? Last times I used Gentoo I just used the packages, took no longer to install than an rpm based distribution.

There is a lot of cool things you could do with something that prints out 20% stronger than aluminum parts.

Whats apt going to do for me on Redhat/CentOS? The problem with package managers is the same as npm/gem.

I really don't get the aversion to cold weather either. It is part of the reason us "northerners" read so much. When it gets to -24F out, aka you can get frostbite underneath clothes, you tend to say well lets just sit inside

As someone thats been on the osx train since 10.2. I get somewhat amused by the "OSX N+latest is the worst OSX" comments. I had the (dis)pleasure of using someone's 10.1 machine, oy wow, surprised that even got released. As a

Somewhat naive too to be honest. As someone that had just plain old ruby circa 1.8.5ish code (not rails) that I ported to 1.9 a while back, even with tests there were differences in behavior that I guarantee you probably weren't thinki

I find this hardware compatibility thing a bit of a non issue. I have a usb dvd drive and floppy drive for that matter. Don't use em much to be honest. Will be using the dvd a lot in a bit while I migrate my dvd collection entirely to

Simple, because this covers America. If Britain wants to enforce its copyrights here, well you'll have to either use force or fire up a treaty. Until then American copyright law applies to something copyrighted in America. Doesn't

We're migrating away from Solaris here, and more to their grid stuff. My point is more the cost is insane. That and the level and response I get from "support" personnel can vary from decent to "what do we pay you people

Too true, I'm writing more C lately than ruby. Then again I'm not a rails fan and I need to interface with ioctls more than oauth or whatever. So C fits much better in my domain space. That and command line apps in ruby, well ther

Agreed as to overall lack of focus, I was annoyed that until chapter 7 there really wasn't much C to speak of, and the last chapters where he finally got into interesting things, were far too short. That said I did learn a few tricks,

Yep, you're both 100% right. Dairy cattle are basically a prison sentence. We had regular cattle too, those amounted to looking at the pasture they're in and moving them around. Way less upkeep.
