seriously, I'd like to see in 5-10 years how the current sold car will behave in the reseller market. And the report should consider the performance over winter, not just at 20°C as car vendors are doing

It all boils down to what you want in your life. I've seen people (including myself) trying to change the lifestyle, thus money is a vehicle to do so and to build something with. Not everybody has got rich parents or sugar daddies, som

At my company, the PE is simply the Team Leader, who does: * communicate with clients * does the architecture design * does the API stub implementation * does code reviews * provides technical leadership / last word on a choice

No, at my last work, it was such a pain even doing a minimal change: codebase without unit tests, team lead doing gatekeeping and keeping it old school (some JavaEE 5) and with old servers (there are a lot of CVEs in dependencies and in the

In Java, the "write once, run everywhere" is true only if you are in some boundaries. Java Preferences API are a classic example of this false myth, since e.g. on MacOS it behaves differently than in Windows/Linux. And ever h

SonarQube is one of the most famous quality checkers. Another good measure is the number of dependencies used: if too much, the quality might be poor (= poor maintainability). Is the application vulnerable? Check OWASP for this.

As I switched back to the default SMS app, "magically" all the 2FA tokens are delivered in less than 10 seconds.

I would be careful with 4a. Setting it as default SMS client prevents to get 2FA tokens from applications like Amazon, Dropbox, Paypal, or at least, they come with a huge delay.

in this perspective, I'm saddened of all the electricity Bitcoin burns for futile intents. Imagine putting all these electricity for good purposes rather than making people rich.

I'm not convinced that it was because of poor timing, but just because of bad App environment. Look what's doing Huawei lately: kicked out of Google Services, it's a well established Phone maker, but it's losing quotas r

What about Cloud Environment? Do you know that writing code efficiently can also save money for the company? If you try to write code that burns bandwidth or CPU cycles without even attempting to optimize it, it's gonna cost you an eye

Time to ditch YouTube I guess. I understand they want to be _profitable_ by forcing users to pay those $9.99/month, but this aggressive campaign against free users is really really bad.

I don't see a huge price drop before 2027-2028 at least. EV feel like "luxury" ones because they are new. A VW ID.3 costs like a Mercedes Class E, which can be considered a high standard.

I hope that with these bans, actually the government will take action on the high prices of electric vehicles and on the charging infrastructure. A middle-size car can't cost € 40.000 (without batteries!), a lot of people can't af
