For me it’s not only the chess. Chats get more chatty, but knowledge and fact-wise - it’s a sad comedy. Yes, you get a buddy to talk with, but he is talking pure nonsense.

M1 Pro compared to Intel was so big step ahead that I suppose we all are still surprised and excited. Quiet, long battery life and better performance. By a lot! I wonder if M4 really feels that much faster and better - having M1 Pro I'

So we’ve got into politics in software. Good lord (spaghetti one, of course)! I thought we already have problem with quality diving in IT, because of all those newcomers wanting money and laziness only. Sad to see we learned nothing from hu

I would use hosting with SSH access. I am based in Poland so we have MyDevil.net But also you can just rent VPS for 5$, but you have to care about setting everything up. First thing I thought while reading was Firebase - it's interesti

More than a "yes, it should". While loading chunks you need to take redstone, nature and mobs into account. If you don’t - you need to find them and resolve at runtime with even bigger costs, relying solely on difference between p

I would to see people start engineering instead of overengineering, being scared of such exposure happening to them. The only thing I can’t disagree more - it’s not the graduates who write ServiceFactoryBuilder where I work at. Those are gu

I have iPad 2 Retina. Screen still is great, battery allow for hours of playing, but it stays at iOS 12. Even Github doesn't work correctly there, because we moved onto super-extra-required-new-crazy-stuff in JS area. It's so tras

The way I solved it once was trying to update ES synchronously and if it failed or timeouted - queue event to index the doc. Timeout wasn’t an issue, because double update wasn’t harmful.

If you are ok with money and you do at your job things you want to do - stay that way. Overengineering roles currently kills people that go higher on the ladder. Sometimes there is space to go back, sometimes they are burned out too much. I

Not sure if I got the question, but during indexing e.g. cpu.total{env=prod, host=a} [id: 1] you insert cpu.total;env=prod and cpu.total;host=a entries with id 1. then you get cpu.total{env=prod, host=b} [id: 2] and you end up with 3 entries:
