This is already possible for certain genetic disorders. For late-life diseases though, it's likely they are linked to exposure to something during the individuals lifetime (i.e. parkinson's disease from pesticide exposure) and gen

Typically antibody-producing B-cells are screened for binding to self-antigens during their development inside bone marrow, where if they were the type to produce autoantibodies then they would be destroyed before even entering the body. An

If you have disposable income to spend $30 on an internet service, it's likely you also have a mortgage. Mortgage search ads alone are around $10 a click IIRC.

Apple still cares heavily about user experience, and relies on their brand equity to charge a premium for hardware. Hard to be the quality leader in the market when your customers find your software inferior.

That page is intentionally misleading. They list crawled websites as 'sources'. If DuckDuckGo claims to have over hundreds sources, then Bing and Google have over billions of sources by the same definition.

That's because DuckDuckGo is essentially a reskin of Bing search. They don't do their own indexing save for a few token websites.

I think streaming video is a different beast, because the market is littered with loss leaders. It's hard for content creators to switch to another platform when the only profitable ones are subscription based (and not competitive). E

That's not just Google though. Most companies have an email deletion policy that auto-deletes emails after a certain about of time, on the premise that they eventually lose all value and only pose a potential liability and litigation

Yeah, the commenter straight up assumes that a person is present because the L4 tech doesn't work, when in reality there are legal, liability, and even user comfort reasons to have someone on board with this new pilot.

That's because nobody makes an argument by starting with "I'm making a slippery slope argument" - it's always identified by someone else. Same with whataboutism, no true scotsman, etc. by their nature.

Slippery slope has almost always meant a fallacy, because it typically invokes "the sky is falling" examples that have no evidence to support it coming to pass - even here.

Also an assassin guild may be paid to do it discretely - i.e. disappear someone rather than just kill. That would allow for more assassinations per year to go unnoticed.
