IIRC, bitcoin ATMs do not set up wallets for you. You still need to create a wallet, key, etc. and that is not easy to do for beginners without an exchange like Kraken. Most DNMs use temporary addresses so it's not a good idea to try

I didn't say Monero is KYC. I also didn't say you transfer directly into Kraken. Instead, you would use at least 1 or 2 other wallets before transferring into Kraken, because that bypasses their scanning. Kraken is still cheape

It doesn't matter if Monero is used with KYC - transactions are obfuscated. That means the transactions can't be traced to your KYC wallet on Kraken, meaning you're spending 10% on an ATM for no reason.

Aren't Monero transactions completely obscured anyways? It doesn't make a difference if you using a Bitcoin ATM or transfer to your Kraken account (except a 10% fee for the former).

>That’s funny, I wondered why Amazon order emailed sucked so hard lately. Thought it was just them being dumb. It's the opposite. Amazon wants you to click back into the store to buy things. One way to do that is forcing you to vie

I can almost guarantee Amazon dropped the item details from their emails in order to get you to click back into the store.

That's fair but for people without HSA they should still file a claim against maximum out of pocket.

I thought the lists were a red herring for the problems with privatized healthcare - i.e. look at how complicated pricing is, not how it is being complicated by for-profit middlemen.

FWIW Amnesty International has been calling out Apple's kowtowing to China and invasion of privacy for the last three years, but it's been falling on mostly deaf ears: https://www.amnesty.org.uk/press-releases/

ZCash is controlled by a privately-owned company in the U.S., who gave themselves founder's rewards. It's also designed in a way to allow "poison pills" - i.e. those in control can force a single transaction on a block,

Nothing ever _has_ to happen; that implies intent in markets. Efficiencies and user experience are better for more users on social media than email, despite it's obvious flaws. Did regional steel mills _have_ to replace local blacksmit

This may be a naive question, but isn't that a problem with the content reporting system itself? That it requires blanket exceptions? Popular users are going to have more false-positive reports than others, but when those reports dev

I don't like this example because it assumes that the Whatsapp founders would have had the same billion $ impact at FB, or that FB would not have just acquired whichever app that would have filled the market potential otherwise.

Liability will be delegated away from the hospital and onto the service provider, same way they are with diagnostics on clinical lab equipment. Hospitals love to continue to get paid while shouldering less risk.

It's survivor bias to only look at existing incumbents. Reddit absorbed Digg users almost overnight, as one quick example. Another slower one is how AIM, ICQ, or MySpace lost the war of attrition.

Anecdotes are not why the regulation would exist. The majority of people can do things the right way, but it's always the outliers and bad (lazy?) actors for which the regulation needs to exist for.
