Really? I've been dealing with Gandi for something like 20 years and have never before now heard of anything like this, nor experienced it. Some evidence, please.

Goats or sheep. Goats are not so good if you have trees you value, so a couple/3 sheep? Plus you'll get to harvest some wool. OK, so I'm being a little tongue-in-cheek... Another answer is: Get rid of the lawn. Sheet mulch an

An project that looks interesting to me is Cwtch, precisely for its focus on metadata leak-resistance. It seems to be more of a research-focussed project right now, but I think looking in exactly the right direction.

The argument that he's a flight risk is quite strong, supported by his historic behaviour. No, I don't think they should be holding him at all, given that extradition has already been refused, but this is about punishment and veng

Absolutely. I was watching Alan Kay's "Inventing the Future" talks recorded a few years ago, and this was a thing he referred to in passing. In recent month's, every time I run across the whole "OO is evil/dead

Car rental companies aren't in it for the long term. iirc they hang on to a vehicle for an average of something like 8 or 9 months (Was told this many, many years ago, so probably a bit out of date, but probably not off by much.)

Lovely idea. I would like to see a comparison of the energy requirement for hardening wood this way vs. making steel. Would give a better sense of whether this is a technology worth pursuing as one path toward decarbonising the future.

The sporadic nature of blocking in Uzbekistan makes it look (to my naive eyes) more like incompetence than a concerted determination by government to block Signal.

70-80dB is really very audible. I'd imagine much worse for dogs given how sensitive their hearing is. edit: Must confess I'd not thought of the potential effect of the device on animals.

I don't believe anybody would make such a claim. The Design Patterns (GoF) book explicitly has a complete section about "Applicability" for every pattern it discusses, and makes no bones about circumstances where a pattern is
