Let's discuss the source code for the GPLed parts of Tesla cars (2019)
- dschuessler 5y agoThis smells like an impending class-action lawsuit.
- throw63738 5y agoGood luck with that. Tesla does not even provide spare parts. If you fix your vehicle, they may disable charging remotely at their own will!
- dawnerd 5y agoNot entirely true. They disable supercharging on vins that have been reported as totaled. You can order a lot of parts directly from service centers if you know the part number. They even rent access to repair manuals. https://service.tesla.com/ https://service.tesla.com/
- throw63738 5y agoCharging has been disabled even on non-totaled vehicles and 3td party chargers. Tesla has a right to kick out some cars from their charging network, but this is not the case. Did you actually try to order spare parts from Tesla? It is just marketing BS.
- dawnerd 5y agoYes, ordering parts was easy.
- throw63738 5y agoFair enough, my info is couple of years old.
- cyber_kinetist 5y ago"In particular, we are hoping to engage with interested Tesla owners to determine how we can work together and collectively improve the situation." Ah, the sweet, sweet euphemism... Bring the lawsuits!
