Yep, agree 100%. 10.6.8 on the early unibody Macbook Pros was excellent.

Your comment made me go back and actually read the FOIA document, and indeed it does read as though the police used an LRAD (presumably at low power) in a manner similar to a loudspeaker to convey information, not in a forceful, damaging ma

Women's US 2016 champion Nazí Paikidze also boycotted the 2017 world championships in Iran over similar issues. FIDE (the international chess governing body) seems to be about on par with FIFA when it comes to planning events (and poss

Seems like in that case it should be Facebook being reprimanded if they do something with the data that violates the original terms of use. "Sharing" is a bit misleading because as soon as Facebook acquired WhatsApp, they became

Sure, that makes sense to me. But this seems more like "the company said it wouldn't allow anyone else to query the database" before I bought it. Now that I'm owner, do I still count as "anyone else?" I'd

Is there legal precedent for "sharing" when the only entity you're providing the data to is your owner? Presumably if I bought WhatsApp, I would legally be allowed to query some database for someone's phone number if I

I wonder what the legal argument is behind this ruling. If one newspaper acquired another, couldn't the parent then market to the subsidiary's subscribers even if they continued to operate separately? The parent now owns everyth

Every single job I've take has advertised that a degree is required. After joining, I've always had at least one co-worker without a degree (usually in some sort of respected, senior role). A degree certainly makes things easier

I think a large part of the problem is that the younger generations have grown up with pretty strong expectations placed upon them to do things like go to college (at whatever cost), land a white collar job, climb the ladder, etc. The obvio

FCPX is a neutered shell of what FCP once was. It works fine for prosumer YouTuber sorts of things, but it's hardly a reason to cling to macOS.

I doubt that's true. Adobe CS has been the top choice for pro media for years and it runs on Windows at least as well as on Mac.

If I were Stripe.com's legal counsel, I'd have already fired off a C&D. Stripe.ian.sh isn't trying to subvert traffic, but the entire point of this exercise is to show how it's possible to be confused for the real S

Isn't that a good thing, too, though? I personally love that I can spin up Redis or Postgres or whatever as a managed service on AWS. I care about using the software, not staying on top of patching the server running the software.
