I admit I don't use Twitter or Mastodon very much, but Mastodon's UX seems pretty decent these days. At least 50% of the time when I click on a Twitter link something breaks. Either the page doesn't load or a video won't

There's a lot of articles recently on how we're "rethinking" Alzheimer's, and what is utterly baffling to me is the way none of them seem to mention that it has recently come to light that much of the foundational r

From what I understand, there is somewhat of a threshold in terms of how much fructose can be digested in your gut vs requiring your liver to get involved. It depends on a lot of factors (body size obviously, your overall calorie intake, so

You're conflating accuracy with engine correlation. Having a perfectly accurate game means you didn't make any moves that caused a centipawn loss. Having 100% engine correlation means you're making the exact moves the engine

Hey that's awesome to hear! I saw the redesign but haven't really poked around much yet. If that's the direction examine is pivoting though I am very, very excited for it. Will definitely be checking it out.

Examine.com is the closest analogue to what this site is trying to do, and as far as I know, it works. It takes a while, but if people develop trust in a product or website they value that deeply, and are even willing to throw money at it.

What you're describing is what tiling window managers do (or at least very close to what you're describing). Neither Spectacle or Rectangle are actually tiling window managers; they're just window snapping tools. I have never

Try adding `-row-mt 1 -tiles 2x2`. That will essentially tile the video into parallel streams that can be encoded on different threads. You should get better CPU utilization that way. I don't think AV1 will ever get to the encoding spe

With ffmpeg 5 using libaom it's actually reasonable. Obviously it depends on quality and whatnot, but I'm able to get about .25X of realtime playback speed with AV1 encoding. The magic switch is setting -cpu-used to something high
