I think the trend of front-end projects not providing a compiled `dist` folder with the assets for web inclusion to be a bad idea. This requires me to NPM install this "front-end code" (no Bower) and then add this Gulp compilation

This is really cool. The article mentions that encryption is illegal over these radio frequencies, but why is that? Are people actively detecting encrypted data? It would be cool to experiment with these radios but have it all communicate u

The dollar-pizza wars hit their beautiful height when I walking down 1st ave between 13th/14th a few years ago. I counted 5 in one block! What a wonderful gift dollar-pizza has been. I often wonder how many able-bodied men and women th

This is, in my opinion, the worst part of the story. Anyone who has set up a web-server on the public net knows what happens when you leave ports accessible like this to old, well-known software. There's a good chance people would targ

Not necessarily. You don't need an HTML renderer for emailing, and even if you did, the difference between HTML rendering for emails vs. a full 3rd party, concurrently running application system is pretty big.

We've all been using one since the 80s: email. The interface is just poorly designed for social networking.

I just want one manufacturer to care about and release a decent feature phone. The current landscape right now is the LG Cosmos III, various shitty Tracfones, and then the Nokia lines that have been ruined by Microsoft. I think there's

I think this is wonderful, but this chart [1] seems to indicate that the decrease in coal use is really only replaced by the increase in natural gas. Natural gas seems to release less CO2 than coal burning, but it would be much nicer to see

I'm not going to engage you on what you do, but you need to re-read some of the comments you've made. A lot of it is too hostile / oddly opinionated to be taken seriously, regardless of message. Whatever it is, it's not

Yea but you have to give Stallman the benefit of the doubt here. Perhaps he just knows that Parrots live long, bonding lives and that an unknowing person should never buy one.

One of the best methods is recreational, organized sports. One good example is ZogSports. A lot of people sign up alone and I think the team sports and group interaction really help form the bonds early.

If there is a key it must be the willingness to be persistent, not give up the effort to enrich the network of connectedness. Here and there people do respond, and a relationship slowly begins to form. I think that

I think you're right, but I also think a lot of people want something different. Most people see something they admire, want to recreate it for themselves, and then share it with their friends and family to show/record that they&#

The argument against ad-blocking is that the content-creators don't get paid for their content. But, honest question: who cares!? If you push out content and you can't make money on it without ads, then that content didn't ne

I think it suffers from the same problem as other asset caching. Think of all the sites you visit and how much JS they load. 1000 websites with 1MB of JS will hit 1GB of storage.

Just out of curiosity, why do you only consider gzipped size when determining bloat? Transmission size/time isn't the only factor, there's also the time it takes the JS engine to process the code. 43k gzipped is okay for the
