Oh... You're totally right. I was just able to reproduce this. Maybe that's the reason I sometimes get a green dot when I am unlocking my phone. Tyvm for sharing this. IIRC, it's possible to change the camera icon in the lock

Thank you for sharing this. I don't have the camera app in my app grid, but sometimes I see the green dot and have no idea what is triggering it. I even disabled the camera permission for all apps and started to turn it on from scratch

I think the way macOS and Windows loads stuff after login is a bit different though. Since most macOS installations use FileVault by default, the login screen looks like it loads only stuff related to the login screen and not anything from

I don't mean to say your experience isn't real, but that isn't what I encountered at all with my last 12 years "waiting for Ubuntu to get good" (I am quoting myself here). Every time I tried to install it to test if

Damn, I wasn't sure if I cared about another postman/insomnia like tool, but I saw the cute dog logo, and it sold the tool to me. Maybe I am just silly, but that got me. Congrats to the team for developing it!

This is so nice! Congrats to the team for the achievement! To commemorate, I am running `brew install --cask zed` right now! :^)

If you want to check an application that runs on Electron and is quite speedy, try Obsidian.md. I didn't even know performance like that was possible in an Electron app. Unfortunately this example is the exception instead of the norm.

Not sure if these channels are suitable, but I really love some music theory :^) I love to watch Adam Neely's and 12Tone's channel about music theory. I don't understand everything they say, but the topics are usually very in

I think they already do. Just like chrome and firefox block sites that are considered insecure. I don't think they need a VPN for this.

Maybe I'm being a bit naive, but the telemetry is supposed to help the VSCode developers to improve the product, right? It feels a bit strange when some of us want the benefits of what this telemetry may give (a better product, perhaps

This looks pretty nice! Funny enough it seems to work better on Firefox than Chrome on my computer. I am not sure if that means Firefox is getting nicer or if Chrome is getting worse. I wonder if this is also happening to other users, spec

I am not sure how most people think about it, but I prefer inferfaces like HN's and Dan Luu's blog ( https://danluu.com/ ). They are very simple and the most important thing is the content. I just feel I don't

I remember most if not all cracked games used to have virus on their executables. People always said that you shouldn’t care about what the antivirus said, but now I am wondering, why the antivirus alerted about viruses? Does anyone know? W

This is one of the best HN posts I've read in a while. It feels so close to home, and I think it's amazing that people are sharing their feeling about this topic. Sometimes I feel the same as OP, but then, when I encounter a post

People seem to be very positive about Bitwarden. I've been using Lockwise from Mozilla. Any thoughts about it? I've been using it for a few months to sync between Win, Mac and iOS and it has been working pretty nicely.
