While the article is a bit bland, I do find it interesting to hear about how other people deal with stress, and I can imagine that running a company like Meta would be filled with stress.

Is it really that weird? In the military 6 years is definitely considered senior and I’m sure that’s also the case in a lot of other fields.

I went through Michel’s French courses before moving to France and I think they helped me greatly. I won’t say that I could speak fluently from the start, but It gave me a very strong foundation to build on.

I would say that I sleep very well. Normally 8-9 hours per night without waking up. The biggest impacts for me are, not being stressed, lifting weights and having a regular sleep schedule. Lifting weights helps significantly with the stress

I find the key to this is documentation. Outlining clearly that you disagree with this approach, the risks involved and suggest an alternative but in the end you’re happy to build it as they suggest.

This is such a strange comment for me. It reminds me when I sometimes ask younger developers for advice, and I can feel their frustration when I don’t do things at the speed they would like. But, for me that is missing the point. I generall

I have had to build things I consider to be dark patterns. Normally, it goes something like this: 1. Client asks for something that is a dark pattern. 2. I outline that it is morally questionable to do that and give a suggestion on how it

I’ve used the collaboration feature on IntelliJ when peer programming and it has been excellent. You still look at the same files together, but you don’t need to annoyingly explain where to change things or move around. I highly recommend g

I strongly disagree with you. Since the beginning of Covid, my workplace has converted almost fully into remote working. For a lot of people this has been great, no commute, flexible working hours, ect. For me, it has been a living nightmar

In one sense I agree with you. I find it enjoyable to take an idea and to flesh it out, breaking down the different parts. What I don't find enjoyable is when clients don't have the budget for their grand poorly thought out ideas

Contractors don't fall in the military hierarchy and the example given isn't interfering with field activities. Basically, a Capt can say what ever they like but if it's just not possible to be fixed in the field then it'

That's an interesting take on the issue. As someone who struggled in university in another language, I am glad that this is not acceptable behavior anymore. For me, this is something deeply personal. It took me a long time to be comfor

I'm amazed by the effort they have put into domain squatting. I wonder if it will pay off.

Sites like OnlyFans have nothing to do with you or relationships in general. The vast majority of people don't go on those types of sites. I assure you, the thing that is stopping you from being in a relationship isn't Only fans.

So the solution is to keep polluting? I don’t understand your point here. If everyone makes the effort to walk/bike more there will be a reduction in pollution.

Like others have said that is incredibly interesting and the first I have also heard about it. I happen to rest my tongue on the roof of my mouth all the time but I’ve also been vegetarian my entire life. So no hard meats for me.

One of my all time favourite books is Titan: The life of John D. Rockefeller by Ron Chernow. While it gives an excellent account of Rockefeller’s life, the most enjoyable for me is the incredible setting of the Industrial Revolution in Amer
