Agree over the java part. But Python is still orders of magnitude more productive, being it because of the ecosystem, available libraries, frameworks, or almost any other metric. The only advantage over python is performance, and maybe stat

It is a great alternative for things that otherwise you would build with C++,C or Java. Not so much for things you would otherwise build with python, ruby, etc.

I do! Usually together with Unpoly for ajax stuff and tailwind for styling. Also, I prefer jinja2 templates because with the "macros" feature you can do easy to reuse components.

I used to prefer (and by a lot) Vue more than React because of its simplicity and completeness (router + store + everything you need). After trying to use v3 for a new project and trying out the composition API, I've gone back to React

And I assume you mean all of this is easier to do, safer, takes less effort, has more documentation, is more tested and proven and will be easier to understand by a new joiner after the one that wrote it left than using an existing, popular

Tell that to the Django ORM. I've used it in really big projects, for really big companies and it never failed on us. As I said in another thread, the problem is not writing the SQL. The problem is everything else after you have writte

Because to me, long running transactions are not something that should be done so lightly. A transaction is expensive for the database, so interpolating transactions with requests to external systems, other databases, etc is a bad idea from

All these things fall short the moment you need real "production" features, such as reliable migrations (writing them by hand? no thanks. Outsourcing to another library like knex? no thanks), transactions, community support, relat

That's Prisma [1] for me. Coming from Django, I've found prisma even better than the Django ORM, despite not yet as complete. [1] https://www.prisma.io/docs/understand-prisma/why-prisma

Yes, Mac touchpads are light years ahead of any other trackpad. I believe this is because they control both, the hardware and the software side of it. For me this is the only reason holding me from moving too.

I'm also coming from Django. I've found Keystone to fit my brain a lot better than most alternatives. Tried strapi and it looks good for basic stuff but the documentation is just absolutely terrible, and once you get out of the re
