>20,000 hours is 10 years of full-time work for a single person. Or, while we're mythical man-monthing it, 6 months of work for 20 people? Or merely a single sprint for 240 people!

There's an implicit assumption here that if a colleague did figure out how to (e.g.) 10x their output with new tools, the employer would capture all (e.g.) 10x of that increased productivity.

First thing I thought of as well. Every time I go to join an AWS call, in my head I'm thinking "oh, right. ugh." Hopefully they just adopt Zoom and not something even more obscure.

This is interesting. I frequently had them triggered by riding BART in the late afternoons in the winter, sun beating in through the dirty windows. Going through the tube (dark) and emerging in Oakland (raised track, clear view of the sky o

You basically described my account/family topology, and my concerns, to a tee. This sounds messy and I think I'm on the wrong side of the risk vs reward curve for now, perhaps I'll revisit in another year or two. Thanks for t

For ID=3, it shows o1 getting it wrong, but it seems to have succeeded? It did add a space between Tinker and bell , but that is the canonical way of spelling the character apparently. (That just one caught my attention because I was cur

This is an interesting idea (the first one..) and I suspect it'd be quite easy to build now. Someone posted a web app recently that reminds you to blink (iff you don't), and it was incredibly accurate for me, running fully in the

Unencrypted, I'm sure. I hadn't thought to look for smart meters, but my RTL-SDR (and my Flipper Zero) can pick up all sorts of temperature sensors, etc. A quick google found this rtlamr project with a number of blog posts about
