No, it's obvious to everyone working with GPUs who knows what "serverless" means. It's a very standard construction in English. "Serverless GPU" means "GPU" that is "serverless". If you know

"Serverless" has been a standard term in industry for at least 7 years. Sometimes words don't map perfectly onto the subcomponents that form them. For example a "mailbox" isn't always a box, and doesn't al

I'm not claiming they weren't doing this, I'm claiming they were doing several other things as well, and that sorting the trash in the office is not the goal of this work.

Sure, but my point is that this research isn't about solving the recycling problem. It's about demonstrating a reinforcement learning solution to a difficult task in a difficult real world "everyday" environment.

I think most of the comments here are missing the point of this work. Google did not set out to build a robot that sorts recycling. I've seen these robots many times and know a few people who work(ed) on them, and I had no idea they we

Sure, but 24 hours is too short. It's a huge annoyance for day to day work when you interact with a large number of people and often forget to increase the retention window. Even then chats aren't kept much longer.

Maybe, but on the other hand what do you expect without personalization? At big high schools, the best students will learn more in a few weeks than the median students will learn in all.4 years. We shouldn't expect one curriculum to wo

I don't agree that "fair" is inherently subjective. There are many sensible ways to objectively define fair. For example you could say HN ranking is "fair" if the probability any viewer would upvote that article is

Well I'm hopeful we can move beyond medieval practice and that the presumption of innocence will prevail. Fortunately things seem to be going well for team rule-of-law.
