re: Crematorium Management System, it might be possible to do that rather easily with a CRM? I develop mostly with CiviCRM ( https://civicrm.org ). It is contact-centric (rather than sales-centric), with good workflows for communi

I agree that books 3-4 are pretty slow and uninteresting, but one of the major aspects of Dune is the rise and fall of tyrants, and our obsession for saviours, which only really shines in the Heretics/Chapterhouse books, where the empi

There are also stronger consumer direction laws. Good for us, but yeah, more legal checks to do :)

As you mention, shopping on Amazon has become pretty horrible. I often shop local (faster, more convenient), but discoverability is a big problem, and I hate having to phone to enquire about their open hours, because their Google listing is

Zoom also does weird OS-detection which seems to fail with Debian-testing, so I can't use screensharing on Wayland. Works fine with Jitsi Meet. They also don't support dual-screen mixed-scaling (4k laptop with 1080p external scree

Just curious: what field are you in, and what's the % of PayPal payments? I work with non-profits in Canada. PayPal used to be omnipresent, but in the past 2-3 years, most of our clients dropped it. I never found any good data to back

Any suggestions on simple auth methods to avoid running an open Jitsi server? Last time I tested it, it seemed to be very open by default, letting anyone create meetings. I got lost when digging deeper. If I install-and-forget, I want to av

I'm really excited by the availability of the helpdesk feature. It will help our FOSS project reduce the number of mailing lists we have (such as the security@ or some other public-facing lists).

"Operating System Concepts" by Silberschatz, Galvin and Gagne, is a classic. It covers the basics: processes, syscalls, filesystems. (it's what we read in our OS course in university)

Blocking trackers helps a lot for performance, and I second uMatrix. I even showed my 13 year old kid how to use it. However, uMatrix on mobile is not particularly easy to use (I use it, but would not recommend it).

It's rather neat to be able to read a short diff, including a test, to see exactly what that means. From my limited understanding: it purges cookies and localStorage, if the storage access API permission was not granted?
