A lot of people unfortunately seem to bite on those "SEO experts" kind of emails. I had a few clients ask me if they should give it a try, since, "why not, it's cheap".

Stating the obvious: but hopefully to a place other than Github, since forks would automatically be removed as well.

You can use a voip number that forwards sms (ex: voip.ms). You don't need to setup VoIP, just setup SMS forwarding to email. That's what I did initially for my kid on an android tablet, and always did for my data-only phone.

There's an uBlock filter "ublock annoyances" that filters most of those annoying "open in app" messages. Pretty useful for reddit/imgur.

OK, so the compiled files are free/MIT, but the source files (MJML) are indeed proprietary. Interesting compromise.

Wouldn't that be a token problem, which could happen in a text version as well? I used mutt for over 10 years, and gave up a few years ago. Having clear emails also includes having a good design. Regardless of form, most companies go t

In Quebec, changing your last name is not permitted since the 70s. So when non-English-speaking people use the same family name, we tend to assume they are siblings.

Marriage is on its way out in many places. In my region of Canada (Quebec), less than 50% of couples with kids are married. That number keeps going down every year. (There are some automatic protections in the event of a separation.)

I'm pretty sure the number of shell users has grown exponentially in recent years. I wouldn't be surprised if most users wouldn't know them. However, the more one uses the shell, knowing those emacs shortcuts really helps (no

There's a catch-22 in there, a touch of cynicism, which I understand. However, ideally you want well paid employees who are not exploiting volunteers? I doubt there are many stats on this, but my experience is that most nonprofits don&

Can't you still run KDE apps under Gnome, even with Wayland? I use a few. Some of them look better with the "QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland" environment variable.

Yep, I agree. Drivers seem very unrepresented, except for a few lawsuits, which some could argue may not represent the majority (there is little data).

This could be said of most topics. At the end of the day, lawmakers need to weigh studies, polls and legal precedents, to build a vision of what kind of society we want.

Would you pay $5/mo to support it, even if it were fully public? or only if it goes private? I'm pretty sure a "good enough" alternative would pickup the visibility, such as w3schools, and many won't be able to just

Not judging, but around me, it's usually rare to drink milk after the age of 8 (my kid stopped liking milk around that time, and most of their friends too). We do eat a lot of yogourt and cheese. The province use to over-produce milk a

Fun in Quebec: a 14.975% tax rate¹. The tax can be rounded per line item or on the total. ¹ it was so that the effective tax rate remained the same when Quebec stopped taxing the federal tax, which was pretty annoying for software.

Changing the law takes a fair amount of time, and it would unlikely be retroactive. Not to mention that if everyone is doing it (and it doesn't go against the Charter), good luck legislating against it. Historically, predatory behaviou

Ads give more power to those with more money. It's not a leveled playing field, at least in the US. Many countries limit spending on adverts (or campaigns in general) for this reason.

Have you tested this? Prepaid cards usually don't support subscriptions, which is a way of avoiding that. (I work with handling online payments, and tried this before, but it failed for my test-case)
