There is nothing new here. Lots of WW2 fighters had water (or water/methanol) injection. All we’ve really learned since then is metallurgy and better control systems (EFI).

Running shoes with big padded cushy heels. Since I’ve switched to shoes with minimal padding and a level foot bed my knee pain has decreased (oh and my feet are stronger too).

Running was clearly bad for my health: at 17 I f’d up both of mine. “Oh its just shin splints, run through it.” Yeah, until I couldn’t run through the pain any more. Quit running track, bloated up like Pacheco’s pig. Found out later that

Wife was formerly a dispatcher with the Sheriff’s Office here. They had numerous run ins with autistic kids freaking out and hurting people. “He's autistic” becomes not an explanation, but a warning.

Well, the CNN coverage I saw didn’t mention 3 shots. Also, there was no video of the shots being fired. Note, I’m not saying there weren’t three shots, just that often the first reports get things wrong. If he was indeed shot 3 times, the

Piss poor trigger discipline. The officer kept his finger on the trigger even when he didn’t intend to shoot. I hope the therapist guy gets a big settlement out of this.

Name an inexpensive easy to acquire and work metal that would be a good substitute? Should we use gold? How about depleted uranium? Tungsten maybe, but it is spendy and shatters on impact.

To be fair, rifle bullets whiz through soft (cop) body armor like through cheese. It's a matter of velocity, pistols just don't have the oomph to penetrate, and pretty much all rifles do. The "green tip" ammo mentioned

You’re not counting labor costs, tracking down an issue with an older car can be seriously time consuming, and that time costs something like $75-100/hr. For instance, my fun car had a persistent miss that made it basically undrivable.
