I'll be in the market for a new phone in the next year, and I've got to say I can see the appeal, but the price tag is pretty high. For me, the major features are the look-to-unlock and water resistant features. Whether those ar

Enjoyed this much better than the actual linked article. I love Lawrence's take on the thirteen. While I don't agree with them all in their entirety, he makes some really deep, visceral, and compelling points about the human exp

Well I think table top RPGs by necessity have to more closely meet in the middle on the luck vs resource management spectrum, but "normal" board games are where the differences really get highlighted. Risk is a traditional "A

You're "rebuttal" is equally, if not more so, absurd than any claim made in the article. You're calling democracy into question as your first argument for letting Google do this? REALLY? Then you ask for research, as e

As an avid boardgamer, I've noticed there's a big difference between American and European board games (and probably also table top RPG frameworks) in the sense that the American tendency is to favour luck and hail Mary rolls to s

Another fun "like" side effect is when Facebook rebroadcasts likes. This can be kinda funny / morbid when someone who has passed away (but has not had their Facebook profile memorialized) "likes" some random brand..

No... you're missing the point entirely The store is Spotify. The brands are artists. If I buy brand A, the store gets a cut, and brand A gets a cut. Brand B gets nothing. With Spotify, if I listen to Repartee, Justin Bieber is still g

No, that really is the definition of an algorithm. Algorithms and computers are NOT inextricably linked. Just because software often uses algorithms to define behaviour, doesn't mean algorithms cannot mean other things.
