To add some context... When photos are uploaded to places like Google images they are scanned for this material. Apple is currently only processing images that are being uploaded to iCloud. So, these are photos people intended to upload to

Many (most?) smart TVs scan what you watch and send it to the manufacturer or one of their partners. Streaming, blu ray, home movies, and all of it.

If we are going to discuss or compare privacy with iOS and Android we should look at the privacy issues of Android. While I am bothered by the latest privacy issues with iOS, I also realize that Android is terrible at privacy. Right now the

A long time ago I leaned that no one wins an argument. When it comes to choosing a side in an argument, people end up defending their side to the end. I think it can get worse when the other side is unfriendly. This is what we have today wh

1Password fills iframes based on their domain rather than the parents. If you have an entry in 1Password it will use the value for the domain of the iframe. I’ve gone so far as to test this. In my opinion this is the right security model

What caused me to not consider Bitwarden was the way it handled iframes. It could send the parent sites credentials to an iframe even if the iframe was on a different domain. This is a big no-no in my book. This was a discovery in a securit

> How do you know which hash is the correct one? Figuring out the correct hash is different from knowing that the software you got is from who you expected it to be from. If you sign 100 versions of something and you verify what you got.

Smaller regular fires burn at lower temperatures and they clean up basic debris. If we fail to let the lower temp fires clean up debris the debris tends to grow. When there is more of that the fires burn at hotter temperatures and cause mor

This still comes down to assumptions. If someone was using raw kubernetes manifests instead of Helm and charts they would need to know the schemas and details of those manifests. Then, when 1.16 came out they would need to update to the new

A couple things I notice about this list are the use of terminal and the reliance on available Linux or Docker. For example, minikube (by default) and k3d both look for Docker Desktop to be installed. We've been working on something ta

You can find the legal definition at https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/42/11302 Squatting in a derelict building counts as homeless per the US definition. It's not just people living on the street.
