Thing is, for the particular example of Maps, data really is king, and both Apple and Google haven't figured out that whole data importation problem. Hence why Google Maps blows outside major cities (roads are missing, horribly out of

To pile on here on a (vaugely) related tangent, Common Voice (from Mozilla) needs our help to build a public speech corpus for training speech recognition software and Text to Speech: https://voice.mozilla.org/ Mozilla is c

Working together is the only way to take back tech from the corporate overlords. We need to support Mozilla's efforts to liberate critical technologies like Voice to text via Mozilla DeepSpeech. Building the Common Voice corpus is crit

We're on OVH for most things that aren't latency sensitive. For things where every millisecond counts for quality, we either find a 2nd tier cloud provider with decent peering to most of our end users in that area, or less common

Lack of IPv6 support is what keeps us off GCP or AWS, HTTP fronting is great, but when it comes to realtime interactive streams to mobile devices, the ability to save significant latency and avoid the hot mess of CGNAT is invaluble.

Something to this effect is accurate. Assange aired war crimes commited by my country to the world that were purposefully and fraudulently classified. Rather than own up to the crimes commited, the politicans at the time chose to shoot the

So far it has yet to end, which is quite surprising. Sad to see how far my country will stoop to attempt to abscond with a foriegner, he will not have a fair trial if extradited.

I would be seriously challenged to find more than a handful of businesses in Seattle that use any of these offerings. I don't think I have ever heard of these offerings, compared to G Suite there seems to be no marketing of these offer

The status quo is terrible, that is not a good reason to add a "secure" national ID though, it is apt to make the problem of tracking worse.

Don't presume consent or support based on lack of vocal opposition. Queens isn't as high income as Seattle or the part of Virginia that Amazon is in, and the people who live there may just be making ends meet, not paying attention
