I don't know what this team is or did. However, to paraphrase Jeff Goldblum from Jurassic Park, if everyone is preoccupied with building things, who will be the one that stops and thinks whether they should?

Careful with that statement. General public seems very happy adopting wearables. Much more than anyone would have guessed in the early 2000s.

Gen-Z doesn't use search is a weird argument to me. They are teenagers. Of course they won't do anything useful online. Their behavior should change once they enter adulthood. They'll need plumbers too and no they won't

The ship of Theseus comes to mind. Surely some of these were not in continuous operation, changed owners or moved buildings. Is that the same pub then?

Bingo. It's not petitioning that movies change and avoid all sorts of emotional triggers. It's just documenting them. I don't see the problem here.

This puts outsized power in the hands of incumbent homeowners. What about people who work in Atherton or nearby towns and need to commute hours to get to their jobs? They sure would like to live nearer to their workplace. They generally are

This is not even a hindsight 20/20 situation. The math never made sense. They were too brittle to make the LTV turn profitable. Maybe people were hoping for subsidies? Practicality-wise, they neither belonged to the sidewalk (too fast)

It's a catch 22. The excuse for not building proper transit is sprawl and the excuse for sprawl is not having proper transit. Sprawl always wins in the US.
