HN isn't really. Take any thread which talks politics and you'll notice it gets flagged, removed very quickly. HN works because it's heavily moderated. It's the equivalent of "No politics discussion!" instilled

They have, overwhelmingly. The problem is it's an anonymous platform and bans are irrelevant for most internet users today. This was all nicely summarized by John Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory in 2004.

Is there anything preventing me from using these servers as proxies with incredibly cheap bandwidth? I assume it stacks? When we reach transfer limits I can just spin up an additional $5 instance to add another 1TB? $5/mo per 1TB of ba

This was obvious from the RNC speech and further reinforced when Thiel donated $1M to Trump. A contrarian bet, sure, but $1M is a pretty small price to pay to have a 50/50 shot at CTO of the USA. I'm sure he'll see a very sig

Indeed. And two countries most emboldened by a Trump presidency? Russia and China. China, US, Russia are the 3 top contributors to global warming by a significant margin. China has 60% more CO2 emissions than the United States, but Trump&#x

HN is an echo chamber when it comes to tech choices, but it's absolutely not when it comes to politics. I've seen many pro-Trump supporters in the ranks here, which is very surprising given the demographic.

Hype? It's an hour+ commute between East Bay and UCSF. All my friends doing a residency put in close to 80 hours a week at other facilities. I'm not sure how that's remotely sustainable to waste that much time commuting.
