Ok, but what about car jacking? Have you done the statistics to figure out which is safer? Also what about risk of health via car crash? https://www.startribune.com/a-breakdown-of-2021-carjackings-...

I also use vim not neovim. I don't like the neovim culture and money grab. I think the founders misrepresented the origin story. But neovim does have some nice features. But not enough for me to switch and vim is being improved at a ra

It's almost like Snowden forgot the US has the largest prison population ALREADY. The time ran out in the late 90s when all the Surveillance technology was being built by Silicon Valley.

For about 7 years Google Maps couldn't give me directions from my house to work. Not that they gave the wrong directions, no, literally couldn't give me any route. Any mapping company has errors for individuals. Question is, in ag

HERE WeGo is built by HERE maps which creates maps for the navigation industry. They have been at it for over 30 years. So it's not some new company that is figuring out maps. The UI is good, especially when navigating. Before I travel

Yes, HERE WeGo. Benefit is being able to download a whole state or country to the phone which allows it to work completely offline. No need to preselect some bounding box to download or anything. https://play.google.com/stor

I see you are the creator of /tap? Great! I think the multi modal goal is definitely cool and could be really useful. For tiddlywiki, I have to host my own server and only access to it is via a browser. While I have access everywhere t

Yes, it being hosted is definitely nice. It's not a big deal for people like me that know how to host software but I can see that being a huge plus for folks who can't/don't want to manage their own server.

Lines of code is not a good metric, but log lines of code is probably useful. The most product team ever recorded in a study was the Borland Quadro Pro team. They averaged 1000 lines of code per developer per week. To put that into context,

Yes, when Linus first tried C++ in 1992 this is true. But the linked comments were done in early 2000s which by then C++ was very mature. So by early 2000s, C++ was already 20 years old. Rust is only 11 right now.

We need to get away from oil. Global Warming is very serious. Higher prices will encourage it and lowering prices will postpone it. We don't need to increase production.

Interest rates are a base cost to everything. Base cost to business and base cost to consumers. Interest rate increases will raise prices (cause inflation), especially since many consumers are paying for things with savings and not debt.
