Personally I found Dartmouth GPAs correlated to how often you went to class and how much attention you paid to the lecture. If you didn't go or zoned out, you'd be working all day and all night just to catch up on that 1 hour you missed.

It's peculiar that medical residents are systematically sleep deprived but commercial airline pilots cannot fly/work longer than ~8. Most of the time the plane is on auto-pilot, but there's no such thing for zombie residents doing triage at

Doesn't seem that Facebook, Twitter, or Hot or Not would emerge from that class, since the business models were not clear from the start (or now for that matter).

"The only thing that’s impossible right now is registering a new .ly domain" Is www.libyanspider.com not working anymore? It's hanging right now. We got an .ly domain 2 weeks ago.

It's a terrible deal if you do the numbers but extremely convenient. Place to live + job + friends bundled into one. And you'll be (in)famous for being the person who accepted.

Personally, I think it's better than Last.fm. There are too many pages, too many clicks to get anywhere, it's too much information and too much hierarchy. Like.fm is simpler to discover what friends whose music taste I like are listening to

Love it. Runs in the background, I don't have to do any work at all. When I need it, it's updated. Nice work keeping it simple.

I love The Noun Project. They have the simplest, most easily recognizable set. Just wish they had all the social media ones as well: http://www.iconfinder.com/search/?q=iconset:nounproject

Stanford professor Margaret Neale's research shows that diversity, not just women but simply people of different backgrounds, makes a team perform better. ( https://gsbapps.stanford.edu/facultyprofiles/biodetail.asp?i... ). So there is evi

More people would read the article if it wasn't a solid block of text. Good typography makes all the difference. For paragraph comparison: NYTimes: font-size: 15px; line-height: 22px; width: 600px; Men's Journal: font-size: 12px (small); li

Groupon is primarily good for discovery, but it's up to merchants to capitalize on referrals from their Groupon customers. It works particularly well for small operators who need to put a quirky business on a map. For example, a friend who

Pinterest, Dribbblr, and Quora in the early days were all invite-only and read-only to the public. I don't think it's confusing at all. However, you would benefit from exposing some awesome content on the home page to entice people to reque

Massages and yoga classes work wonders to clear my head and solve design problems I'm stuck on. It's impossible to see the problem from a new angle by continuing to stare at the same screen for hours. Maybe Google and Facebook got it right

Lost decade or not, it is impossible to do a startup in Japan. We tried a few months ago, with 2 Japanese classmates. Even though they both spent significant time in the US, they could not say "no" and would not take any risks. If in doubt,
