I think that viability of an "option" is assumed. It's not viable in general today. I'd be surprised if there is even a single person that has actually fully replaced their conventional workspace with a VR desktop like t

I suppose that's an alternative use case for the tech - to simulate and get an understanding of how to build UX that is friendly towards those with poor eyesight. Haha.

I have played around with it, and the resolution just isn't there. The desktop space in VR is ironically less than on a laptop, because every window has to be massive to be usable at all. In a future with 2x4K res or something in that

I know exactly what you mean. Blender has a sort of reverse identity crisis. It does so many things really well , yet these things are overshadowed by its even more excellent 3D capabilities. It's by far the most powerful and versatil

Krita has been a perfectly adequate replacement for me as a bitmap editor. It's more stable and more refined than Gimp in my experience. It's obviously not a carbon copy of PS, so if you depend on certain PS features ymmv.

Admittedly I'm only dabbling on a hobby level when it comes to video editing and composition. For what I've been doing Blender has been more than sufficient. It has a pretty good track editor a la Premiere and you can use the comp

As someone else mentioned, Blender is actually quite decent for vector animation. You might need to modify your workflow slightly, but using grease pencil, bone skinning and curve tools is enough for very decent 2D animations. A nice bonus

Inkscape is fantastic. It, Blender and Krita has completely freed me from paying subscription fees for creative tools. I used to be an Adobe Suite (PS, AI, AE, PP) user, but I've yet to encounter a situation where I've felt limite

Just curious, why would you keep putting the standby laptop in your backpack after this had occurred more than once? It sounds like hardware russian roulette.

There is a significant dissonance there for sure. For example, most people would say that some wars are justified ethically, yet they might change their mind completely if a family member is killed in one. Emotional impact can be a signific

Why stop there? Couldn't the mother be brain dead as well? It's a dystopian idea - breeding zombie cows that aren't alive on a cognitive level - but you can draw parallels to abortions and pulling the plug on brain dead human

Admittedly hyperbolic, though the tech I was referring to was blockchains in general. Maybe you know something I don't, but I always thought the idea and core of blockchains to be pretty rad.

But it's the clients fault for trying to communicate with a teapot. There's nothing wrong inside the teapot. You just tried to communicate with a teapot. That's silly. Here's a 418 for you.

Anyone surprised by this must be living under a rock. NFTs and crypto in general has turned into mostly an unregulated playground for market manipulation. It's sad to see these fantastic technologies falling into darkness. Same can be

IMO there are a lot of quality products in the gaming segment. The main problem is that the segment is bloated by so many "X but with LEDs and a higher price tag". You just have to do a bit more research before any purchase.
