In general I'd say Godot is excellent for the average indie game. It might not be the best choice for cutting edge AAA rendering or performance. In my experience the most important aspect of an engine for a solo/hobby developer is

One thing that makes Godot smoother in my experience is its project structure. It doesn't use traditional ECS, but relies on inheritance and composition. Combined with the "everything is a node" mindset, it makes it much easi

It's just a silly way of showcasing capability. No one thinks this is a useful project. It's just impressive that it's possible.

That's absolutely hilarious, thanks for sharing. "Made with  by a Blockchain Expert who wrote like 100 lines of Solidity in 2017 (which didn't work)" I died.

Scalability is probably a concern for a lot of people, but it still doesn't make it the point of the demo. They want to show that their service is capable of even running a workload so classically local and native as a full game with h

I think any potential customers would understand that scaling isn't the point of the demo. It's unreasonable to assume that they'd infinitely scale a processing- and bandwidth-hog like this just for fun.

Glad to hear it! Just out of curiosity, where did you end up taste wise? I found DnB pretty early on and it has always remained the backbone of my rotation. Mostly dark stuff like Current Value, Noisia, S.P.Y etc.

It's just an absurd tech demo, why would they want to scale it? Just to burn money?

This made me want to grind lap times in Wipeout 2097. The soundtrack and atmosphere in that game was really similar to this, and like nothing I'd heard or seen before at the time. It probably shaped my taste in so many ways. Fond memor

I really don't think that is similar at all. The proverbial daughter is desperate to regain some sort of lost connection with a dying parent before it is too late. Maybe she feels that she needs to make up for all the care and attentio

I don't think that the proverbial daughter necessarily has to be wrong. It's just a description of a sudden flurry of engagement by someone who has been distant from a dying patient. It's probably misguided in a lot of cases,

You can look at the NTV takeover for a good example of how this can happen. In cases where the state doesn't end up directly owning the media company, suspiciously often the majority of shares ends up owned by Kremlin loyalist oligarch

The purpose of democracy is to let citizens exercise control of their own country. Wealth, status, heritage etc. is always going to be confounding factors for this to work. Ideally the democratic process should account for this, but in real

It is pretty funny. However it gets a bit skewed when you talk about Russian media vs "western media". One is largely state controlled with very rigid guidelines and directives and the other is an amalgamation of hundreds of outle

Haven't bio-hackers been shoving NFC chips into themselves for quite a while already? It's interesting that it is getting commercialized, but it still feels very much like a novelty thing for cyberpunk fans.
