I guess it involves a bit of assumptions and guesswork to automatically replay your previous actions to files that in turn may have changed. It probably slightly increases the chances of Git doing something you didn't expect, and not t

AFAIK this is the same attribution strategy that sweden uses. It has likewise been cited over here (sweden) as contributing to the comparitevely high numbers.

Yeah it is a bit sus to mention that in passing. As if it's yet another way these vily newbies nestles their way into the inner sanctum. Someone "playing the diversity card" is a massively positive thing for the industry in t

I've actually looked in to IPA at one point. It is extremely useful when learning the basics of a new language. It would be very tedious to try to look up every new word you come across though. Alas, the worst part is that you don'

To assume that an English reader would know what "dots" are in your example seems unreasonable. As the sibling comment said, if you wrote that in japanese it would make perfect sense. The sort of meta statement would be "That

I don't know about that. I'm Swedish and there are a lot of words in our language that is impossible to deduce the pronunciation of. I'd assume the same is true for the other scandinavian languages as well since they are very

I love how explicit some written languages seem to be. It sounds great to be able to reliably pronounce any word perfectly. I suppose it's a trade off of complexity though. Learning these more explicit languages seems really daunting.

"What produces the best outcome" is doing a lot of work in that last paragraph. Having a nice culture and enjoying the work is a pretty essential part for most people. This may or may not disturb the raw productivity, but still le

I've been doing a bit of evaluating/recruiting new hires, and I'd say that noone in their right mind would expect someone to be perfectly adapted at the start. With your background in mind, you probably feel like you have bee

Fair enough. I suppose it depends on your language and coding style. If you want/need to align arguments with start parenthesis for example, you'll have a bad time with variable width fonts for sure.

I use the non-monospaced version (Input Sans) in every editor I work with. A lot of you might consider it heresy to do so, but I would highly recommend you to try out. Unless you are trying to align tokens on the same line with spaces or cr

No, I think you are the one missing the point. This is clearly for people to post unsolicited DP's that they have received from others. The sentence you quoted is tongue-in-cheek.

The main benefit of generics is to easily maintain strong type information for implementers. With a <T>createMapWithStringKey(T arg) -> Map<string, T> You can keep strong type info with AType a var b = createMapW
