Yes but you can create your own App Store, and people do. There is nothing stopping new ones popping up if the Play Store starts rejecting a lot of apps.

Firstly, I feel like assuming the government has the ability to monitor your communications and acting accordingly is better than assuming they can't and getting worried when it turns out they do. Secondly, I have zero power to change

Since more or less all software encrypt their traffic, the FRA-wiretapping is pretty useless. Huh? Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but are you saying everybody uses SSL?

A lot of people— sometimes the most technically competent ones— were busily telling them that wholesale surveillance was infeasible... greatly underestimating the available funding and ingenuity. The fact that this is happening to _everyon

I do wonder though whether the benefit achieved by the action stfu suggests might on balance overcome any detriment. Yup, and that's precisely the argument the government is making- the benefit of catching terrorists outweighs any de

It was a joke. They are parodying the (allegedly) vague wording that companies used. E.g. direct access to ports 81-49152 on any of our servers. Obviously they could use a port outside that, etc, etc.

It's naive to pretend the trade-off doesn't exist already or that a decision hasn't been made. The trade-off has always existed- a warrant can be produced to violate your privacy. It's just a question of what the proce

An internet campaign by privacy advocates to shame those people who expressed an opinion. That's a great idea. You should totally do it. This won't backfire or be hypocritical in any way shape or form.

Frankly, I would argue that the 2,400 lives lost at Pearl Harbor pale in comparison to the total number of casualties that occurred during the war in the Pacific. Pearl Harbor was the first act of that war, not a cause of the war. Wherea

Why does everyone assume they feel threatened? Crowd funded indie games are hardly destroying their business, or look like doing so anytime soon... Just because someone makes fun of something, doesn't mean they are threatened by it.
