If a politician or a leading business figure said "I think latinos are lazy and worthless. I'm not going to debate that, it's just a personal opinion", would you still say that no-one would have a right to ask them to justify the statement

Shit, people's perceptions of art are insulted and prejudiced? Who knew? Isn't the fact that he supposedly said he doesn't consider them art and doesn't want to debate it an indication that he views it as just a personal opinion, and not

So should two parents who only have one arm be allowed to cut off their babies arm in order to make them like they are? After all, only having one arm isn't a debilitating injury in today's world. Even moreso with prosthetics it could be

Can you provide the link for the peer-reviewed study that says all that? Why should the onus be on the party making the DRM? It is their product and their copyright, why should they have to prove it is effective?

The subject is, "The Brain is Not Computable". I too believe that. The article itself is quite vague in what particular objections the guy has. It doesn't actually state he thinks it is not computable in theory, just in practice > Th

I too believe this. Here is my argument: 1) If we have to simulate it at a low level, the human brain is far too complex for any computer in any timeframe of our current lives to have enough power to simulate properly 2) Working backwards

I agree. I think that this sort of thing is going to produce a "me against the world" mentality, and so I understand why these reactions occur. But although I understand it, I don't think it is right to say "fuck you" to the doctor who tr
