I think that’s what he’s saying: That they jumped from php to another hot mess. At least that’s how I read it.

I suspect that, like rails, it is simple at first but then becomes quite complex as the project grows or you want to do something that goes against the grain of the framework. Getting excited and then jumping all in on new frameworks has bi

I’m the same way, something about the graphics is just perfect. Similar to Factorio for me.

Yes, this is how Elixir Phoenix works. The caveat is that only returns exactly what needs to be changed, so it's a small diff. It's not suitable to everything, but it works really well. I'm not advocating switching to it righ

One of those is not like the others. I see no issue leaving a toilet seat up. It's just as easy for the next person to put it down as it was for me to put it up.

Not to sound harsh, but given how rare something like this, I doubt it's urgent enough of a problem for the funds/effort it would require.

Mindfulness meditation just requires you to keep bringing your attention back to _something_. The breath is just a very convenient option.

This has been my take as well. I can drill-down into third-party packages, rename stuff across files, and use the debugger. I'm not saying JetBrains isn't fantastic, their products certainly are, but the examples given as to why I

No, you just misunderstood the comment. They are saying that workers are always hit with the "the free market will sort everything out" when workers are suffering but the same concept doesn't seem to apply in a worker's

As a customer, I have preferred this when it's an option. My order is wrong less often and I'm not sitting around waiting for a check when I'm ready to leave.

This question kind of shocks me. We do allow, very limited, screen-time but the concept of having no idea what to do with the kids without a screen is jarring to say the least.

Ok, but that doesn’t explain why Musk himself specifically said this was ok.

Whatever you think of Elon up until this point, I don't see how you can find him reliable/trustworthy. He specifically said that @elonjet was ok and then reversed course on that. He's obviously a liar at minimum.

I said for the majority if people. Tech people like us, with nice salaries, are able to enjoy these things more than those who have to do the grunt work. No matter how good automation gets, the government is going to lag way behind. I don’t

Sure you can when you are talking about staying in for the long haul. The market has always gone back up and if it doesn’t, we’ll have far greater problems to worry about than our 401k.

He addresses this exact thing in his list. It's a good time to buy even more, VTSAX is effectively on sale if you are in it for the long haul. Time in the market > timing the market.

I did do this, there were a lot of great people on my team but it paid (a lot) less and is more stressful than just building another CRUD app.
