There was some research after the Vietnam war to provide blind veterans with a device on their back that used a matrix of 'pins' to 'draw' the output of a video camera on the users back.. Supposedly, it worked quite well

EDIT: Hmm - I'm actually having a problem finding anything saying ROSS actually passed the bar. Maybe my memory is faulty... IBM had an AI (Ross) pass the bar years ago...I believe it was actually 'hired' as an attorney at a

I always loved the Commodore bus...simple, daisy chainable, standard connector, etc. I remember being quite disappointed by the initial PC hard drive controller cards..

Heh - I misspoke...I use WSL2, but I don't use the graphics stuff (WSL2+ ?). Oh! In regards to your docker comment - Docker desktop kept choking on creating containers for ARM64 platforms (a libc version mismatch I think)...Long story

I agree, single payer/universal health should be a table stakes. And I wasn't picking on Canada - it seems to be a better system all around. But all systems can be improved (as you mentioned). If we're going to this from scra

WSL is awesome - I haven't bothered with WSL2 as I don't need the graphics... Still a nice tabbed SSH/Everything(tm) client is nice to have :-) PS VS code + WSL is awesome for most stuff :-) Very lil I need from work env. th

Personally, I'd prefer not to get a shiny new UI every update... I do the same things with my phone I always did, I don't want to relearn the UI/Workflow just to get back to where I started.

I've gotta agree - the flat monotone crap ("material design" ??) makes it harder to figure out whats what, and (IMHO) looks worse (even though I love dark themes, I like dark themes with 3D) Also, trying to minimize chrome to

I would have expected the tournament to be behind NAT, so the the client machines would have unroutable ips, and the server would just get the IP of the router - not the individual clients ?

I've been programming professionally since the mid-80s and the career ladder ended up in CTO/Dir. Eng roles... I went back to IC - the politics and managerial stuff just wasn't as interesting as the technical stuff.
