I recall once seeing a link on HN for music theory for physicists and engineers, but I didn't bookmark the URI at the time - anyone recall this, and how to find it?

Readers of Raymon Chen's blog The Old New Thing may be familiar with exactly this sort of thing, which forced windows 95 to have the version number 3.95, instead of 4.0 [ http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/arc

And as mentioned in the opening to my post above, there was a huge roleplaying community on some shards (servers), who would use the static NPC towns as bases for huge roleplaying communities. One of the most notable features of UO, and one

There's another reason other than being used as pawns to get anon. It is not uncommon for such information exchanges and warnings to actually be readiness tests. Except you don't know it's intended as a test of your resources

Interesting and very useful seeing this discussed. The important thing here isn't that any one country is 'wrong', but rather that this is useful information to guide how we interact with businesses and divisions around the w

I agree with the comment given the background of the devs, but less the general concept. I think games like Guild Wars (at least the first one) have shown that levels and classes can work. Similarly the Elder Scrolls games show alternate ap
