Instead, put your subconscious to work on it. Think about it in the shower. Bounce names around off hand. Be patient. I'm a big fan of this technique in many aspects of my work. Whether it be a programming problem or needing to work thro

I've only used them for a couple non-professional sites, so I can't really say much for their performance. But they pretty much sold me on their admin interface and design.

My advice -- don't emulate native, it just ends up looking weird (like the uncanny valley). Just concentrate on good design. By the way -- I just used Backbone.js and performance is fine (jQuery mobile and especially Sencha are overkill).

Agreed -- I'd be happy to pay $5/month for Longform if stories were formatted better (I don't see ads but sometimes content is missing/duplicated), and maybe for a recommendation engine based on what I've already read.

Isn't that good marketing? And won't most engineers use the code regardless of what its named? Seems like an interesting strategy to me :)

Why do I get kicked into safari when I search for directions and click on the map? Whereas when I click on external web sites it loads in a tab within the app?

Is it multidocument summarization? I wrote a term paper on this back in school some years ago and though the technology is very interesting, it left a little to be desired (so I wonder what the state of the art is now). The applications I

I've fixed the display issue, but I remember now talking with a user who couldn't get podcasts to play in Ubuntu/Chromum -- Unfortunately, its a licensing issue and my hands are tied :( Chromium users will have to use Firefox or another br

The podcasting world is huge and very, very active. I love podcasts because I'm a big multitasker and they are a great way to learn new things while doing something else. They're awesome for catching up on tech news (e.g. the 'This week i

I'd love to have a service like this that is polled by my devices as I go about the day. For example if I'm writing an email, visiting a website, or at a physical location (according to my phone), the service would give me gradated alerts

I've been working with the beta this afternoon and its great. Its like MacGDBp but with a far better interface, less crashy, and with the ability to set breakpoints directly in your code with a code snippet (which is a huge timesaver for m

Care to share some of your posts on the subject? I'm curious as here in Honolulu the tech scene is fairly lackluster and I wonder why Belize would be any different.

At least with Netflix, there is no free option. I think in this case, 'Subscribers' means that the service requires a subscription to use it at all (whereas freemium has tiered service levels).

Truly. Slashdot was on of the great influences on my young self (I was 13 when I signed up in 1998) and I checked it daily for over a decade. I'd probably not be the nerd I am today if it had never existed!

Absolutely! MacGDBp is pretty much useless and full blown IDEs are overkill (plus I prefer a lightweight editor like ST2). Email sent.

I wonder if there is a way to programmatically hide apps from the cmd-tab switcher? I know some apps (e.g. apps that have a system-wide menu) let you hide its open status from the dock (which in turn hides it from the app switcher); Can you
