I liked how he wove it together (or attempted to). Agreed that he made points which appeared to stop you and think up the story to draw a parallel but I believe there is a cyclical nature to this. I like seeing the story behind great rivalr

The video should definitely be watched. A little more revealing about the playfulness this team is addressing the issue, although still filling it in with their strong opinions and data. The article came across heavy handed which (I feel) d

Yeah, I dropped paypal a while back after Adobe made charges to my account which I had cancelled. Paypal makes it very easy for subscription services to keep sneaking those charges in. Closing my Paypal made it very easy to stop that nonsen

Had a knee jerk response to this around SOLID really advocating for simplicity in a somewhat rigorous definition. Completely agree with your statements, a good set of guidelines. A challenge we face is that there will always be those who ei

I agree that having a disciplined focus on learning as an exercise...there is more work on your part as a reader. I think the point from the article is that we have richer ways to convey information. I feel like that is fair. I mean we type

Your point of breaking things as early in the process really is the winner. Catching things early and often. Tooling that shifts things further left in the pipeline is my go-to default.

I think you are making the mistake that enterprises who employ thousands of developers are looking for quality over butts in seats.

This is the nail on the head. Until we can show that there is something more effective (and possibly transparent) I fear we are doomed to continue repeating this cycle.

Not meant to be an attack and possibly I am missing something but if I paid to take a course at a university and the person teaching it was only ever a step ahead of me at any time... I'd have never taken the course. This style of teac

We are dealing with the path of least resistance and the natural flow of entropy. It seems naive to believe these institutions are not businesses at the end of the day. To change people wanting a degree for degrees sake due to the instituti
