You do not need to download Xcode via MAS, you can download the disk image directly from their developer website. Going through the MAS has been historically very painful for that big app and the day it is the only option is the day I proba

Not to mention the cost of your time, which should factor highly for well paid people that can afford to fly anyways, and if you are low paid, it’s likely your vacation time is scarce, so you wouldn’t want to use it all in the transport. Th

How do you know things wouldn’t be much much worse if there were no standards for being a civil/structural engineer or architect that have been refined over long periods of time? Imagine municipalities taking the lowest bids by far thr

After working for basically 25 years straight since high school, I’m really wanting to take an extended sabbatical from the software industry to do my own thing. I’m scared that the longer I stay out though, the harder it will be to reenter

I’m still not convinced a human form factor is the best solution there. Why not fixed articulating arms at the laundry/sink locations instead of bipedal robots that must maintain balance and locomotion between the spots? Maybe if that

Maybe. But if it is a worse design for tasks A, B and C and harder to build, why not go with the simpler and more specialized design for each separate task? Is the economy of scale really that much better with the general design? I’m not co

Sure, but I think the typical path for those who survive and strive in a CS program is to have touched a computer for the first time well before starting work on a college degree for it. That's like trying to learn a foreign language
