For productivity I've also tried binaural sound, and found it can help me focus (or at least make me imagine it helps me focus, which is close enough for me). There's a great website that allows you to customize quite a few parame

For people interested in using caffeine for tasks that don't provide an outlet for the jitteriness in the form of physical exercise: Check out L-Theanine[1], it works wonders for keeping caffeine's focus, but dampening the anxious

I was already halfway through the article when I realized I'd misunderstood the title: It's not about about using games to interview people (Factorio style), which still might have made sense to test self-taught engineers, but abo

Incidentally, that song was written with Chesley Sullenberger in mind, the pilot of US Airways Flight 1549, which he glide-landed in the Hudson River. That guy is a real hero, and apparently a real human bean.

I get the feeling it might not be as easy to implement as your comment makes it sound. Granted, I have no idea about hardware design, but it would be hilarious if you e.g. calibrated your EMI-detection a little too sensitively and your PC s

I would actually be quite interested in seeing some numbers to back that up, but I'm not sure if there have been studies on the damage of mining yet. In some ways, letting a GPU run at a constant load (and thus constant temperature) is

I definitely have, and I wouldn't use an electric furnace nowadays unless there was no alternative. That's what the 'I'm kidding' was meant for. Sadly, heat pumps can't mine Bitcoins on the side afaik, so I cou

I completely understand; C&C and Need for Speed were an important part of my youth and to see them treated so badly has left me with quite the poor opinion of EA. But for some reason, their shitty way of running the game business seems

Ultimately it's a game theoretic problem though, isn't it? Your own personal impact on energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions is negligible, even if you are jetting around in your private jet. Therefore it only matters wh

I'd just get a Keychron in whatever format you prefer, maybe together with a set of keycaps you like. Still fairly cheap compared to going full custom, but definitely respectable performance. I'd always go for hot-swappable switch
