Every bank I've ever used has had functionality to do csv exports (or xlsx, for which I have a one-liner to convert to csv), which can trivially be imported into gnucash. At least in the UK/EU, it seems to be a common feature.

I _kind of_ built something like that a few years ago - https://github.com/tom-james-watson/wtp-ext The bad news is it required firefox nightly and honestly I'd be surprised if it even still works because Mozilla

You also need to understand the context that in the UK, and most of the west other than the US, WhatsApp is just the default communication channel for messaging. If you text someone, it's just assumed it's via WhatsApp.

Fish has so many more features out of the box than bash. Once you use fish for a while it's really quite painful to go back to basic bash.

> Is it because the German industry and population is much bigger? No, this is CO2 per kwh, so is proportional to population. What you have just discovered is that Germany does a lot of greenwashing. They may have spent trillions on rene

Thunder [1] is also worth checking out. IMO its UI is even slicker than Sync's, plus it's open source and not ad-supported/freemium. If you ever used Relay for Reddit, you'll feel right at home. [1] https://gi

I hate to be crass, but if the last few years have taught us anything, it's that you don't have to look too far to find crazy people in important jobs in US government.

As the adage goes - extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - and we still haven't seen any. Until there is some actual data to back any of this up, there's not really anything to talk about.

One thing I'd like to see is a better way to estimate the cost of kids, and specifically per-child. If I could just click a button and have the average cost for a child for my country added from a certain year, that would be awesome.

I just had a play around with this for the first time in a long while (I tried it when it was projectfi), and it's in a really great place - well done! Love that you support countries other than the US - that's very much appreciat

Many are now committing to either going dark indefinitely, or to reassess after the 14th, maybe with a poll to their members on how to proceed. This will definitely be going on for more than 2 days.

Fine for some, but for others there are still show-stoppers. I have a laptop with an Nvidia card and my latest attempt to use Wayland, on Fedora 38, didn't last very long at all before being forced to retreat to xorg by the issues.

Agreed - the lack of CO2 monitoring is a shame. I bought a relatively inexpensive CO2 monitor (~90 EUR) and it was really an eye opener. If you work in a small home office, the speed that you reach levels of CO2 that will have a noticeabl

So much negativity in this thread, jeez. I love current Thunderbird but it undeniably has its issues. Firstly, of course this is subjective, but its UI is starting to look dated. Lots of you are complaining about modern UIs, but I think the

The difference is that in the UK nearly everything you interact with in your daily life is in metric. You won't find anything in a UK household in imperial measurements other than the bottle of milk in the fridge.
