Amazing data. That I believe is 9+ confirmed amazing vaccines all with 100% efficacy against death/ICU.

I think your position, and that of the FDA is based on emotion, and not any logical reasoning. The Thalidomide crisis cased a few thousand issues. The risk-benefit analysis clearly favored lifting the ban on COVID vaccines after successful

First Dose First and approving more vaccines are the easiest answer to this question. The prioritization is not working well, for the reasons outlined in this article. However, we can give approximately 4x the rate of people getting 100% pr

I feel one huge takeaway from covid is that the centralization of education is a mistake. There are a huge range of decisions appropriate for different family groups, and they should be free to make more decisions.

Its typical of vaccines for longer spacing to improve the efficacy. This is why for most vaccines you get your booster spread out by a lot more (like 1 year). So generally speaking, the expectation was that it would improve efficacy and it

This is basically a hit piece, and this type of journalism really hurts us because it misses the big picture. The reality is that Astrazeca ran full trials which proved safety and efficacy in peer reviewed journals. Were things a bit messy?

I suspect it will hurt the anti-vax movement. There wasn't a lot of Anti-Vax activity before 1980 because so many people watched diseases get eradicated by vaccines in realtime. But, I don't expect it to make a giant difference :(

This is very innacurate. We have the following data: -Moderna data between the 1st and 2nd dose at 28 days -Pfizer data between the 1st and 2nd dose at 21 days -Aztrazeneca data between 1st & second dose at various dosing schedules -J&a

Hopefully this additional data will get the US to act the way they should have in November. Lift the ban on Astrazeneca. It's been given safely to millions now, with zero deaths from covid in the vaccinated (+14 days). The FDAs failure

I doubt the US will see much of this, but this is now one of at least 4 high quality vaccines with great, public data banned from use in the US: Astrazeneca, J&J, Novavax, and Sputnik V.

Becoming space faring could allow us to have a trillion humans and have the planet be effectively a nature preserve. So long term net positive environmental impact I expect.

Google Play Store takedown and appeals process is so embarrisingly bad and so easy to fix. 1) give people notice and the chance to respond in most cases before the takedown or put the app back up if an appeal is filed until the appeal is re

I don't know about the legality, but I can say that if you want to take forever to lift the ban on the vaccine, you lose moral justification for complaining about things being slow. If they approved in November, I'd feel different

BTW - I do think it would be more helpful if you report on the numbers between vaccines to use your primary metric as "100% Effective at Preventing Death", then use 68% or whatever as your secondary metric. This better reflects th

Smart smaller countries that can't get supplies should approve this now and have all the supply to themselves. Or maybe the EU can do that instead of trying to get the UK supply...

"do no harm" is a horrible moral framework. It led directly to the deaths of hundreds of thousands this last year, where we routinely and repeatedly do things that are expected to cause more harm because we haven't first prov

While I do agree with you a bit, I think the big problem with Astrazeneca is that people hated on it so much that it's banned in the US. This is despite the fact that statistically it is extremely likely to be both safe and 100ish% eff

I have read their opinion, their statement is more unclear. They say that their is nothing in employment law that prevents requiring an approved vaccine but that it was up to the FDA and other bodies to make the call regarding EUA vaccines.

I think the SLS program at this point adds negative value to getting to space. I wouldn't normally wish for failure, but I think even if development were free I would vote to axe it. The distraction of this program is immense, and when
