Other controversies aside, this could end up being a bit of a organic Turing test, if the AI ever becomes convincing to enough scammers.

That's like me saying, well who cares that movie prices are going up, I get all on the TPB. Not exactly something to brag about.

I live in Chattanooga, TN and it seems like a better deal ($300 if you want a 10Gb link, with other decent low cost options. It really seems like the rest of the US has missed the boat with municipal ISPs. As others said, you really need to

I was lucky enough to live next to a patch of morals as a kid. No expert required. :)

I agree, I always thought eating mushrooms required an expert for confirmation, otherwise you are rolling the dice. Buying a random book off Amazon and using that seems like the very definition of something a non-expert would do.

Not in the traditional sense, but how are we to possibly gauge an LLMs "intelligence" without framing questions like this?

The thing is, the core of the GPT architecture is like 40 lines of code. Everyone knows what the source code is basically (minus optimizations). You just need to bring your own 20TB in data, 100k GPUs, and tens of millions in power budget,

That's true for most recent AI/ML work, but hardly true for all of research.

That per exchange context cost is what really puts me off using cloud LLM for anything serious. I know batching and everything is needed in the data center, and important for keeping around KVQ cache, you basically need to fully take over m

This is a linking issue (you're missing a specific version of a dynamically linked standard library), and probably best in the issues on the repo, not Hacker News.

I'm glad to have a 19in CRT nearby my desk, I do enjoy the retro vibes, but the big disadvantage has gotta be their weight and heft. There is no way the average consumer wants a FW900 taking up their entire desk. It would be cool if th

Those people help vote in bad politicians, but their propaganda is fed by opportunistic and wealthy. It's a cycle, but it's definitely "top-down" at least if you want to ascribe actual malice.

I've never played much Zero-K, but from I understand the eco in BAR is truely exponential, after you get to the top of the tech tree and have a metal maker economy. It's an interesting design, since late game human becomes the bot

I mean harassment or libel laws already cover this right? Or revenge porn laws could apply if you did it to your ex. That's not fair use, simply reproducing the sound of a voice using AI is not a crime.

For AI that's either a very fat SDXL model at it's max native resolution, or a quantized 34B parameter model, so it's on the low size. Compare that with the Blackwell AI "superchip" announced yesterday that appears
